Yup, for the SGN-R1 in "bullpup" configuration, it can be primed similiar to how a Nerf Big Bad Bow is primed, by holding the front handle and pulling back the trigger handle.
Its not too difficult, about the same as priming a Nerf Big Bad Bow thats using the same aftermarket spring strength.
I have an empty Nite Finder EX-3 case, and it's sitting and gathering dust in my room. I don't know if this kind of thing might interest you, but I want to build my own blaster with the Nite Finder shell.
It is just an empty Nite Finder case. Nothing inside, nothing attached. All I have left of it is the cocking mechanism with the spring still attached. However, it's not in the gun. If you could let me know about any ideas you might have about this, that'd be great. Thanks!
You can consider using the DIY design of the L+L, check at the homemades section of the NerfHaven forum.
The DIY L+L design uses polycarbonate as it's casing, but since it operates like a Nite Finder and has similar dimensions, you can borrow some design aspects from the L+L plunger mechanism to fit into your Nite Finder shell.
You can refer to the "SNAP" blaster design threads posted by other modders at the NerfHaven forum to get the basic ideas on how to build spring powered DIY blasters using PVC pipes.
I would advise you to start building the basic "SNAP" blaster designs first, then you will start to fully understand how everything works and move on the more advanced designs like the R-Series blasters.
are the guns here completely home made in every way or can they be modified blaster designs?
ReplyDeleteharpuia,
ReplyDeleteThe DIY blaster designs i'll be posting on this blog would be custom built from scratch using hobby materials and parts.
Blaster designs that utilise existing blaster parts would be considered blaster mods, therefore i'll post those over at my Mod Works blog instead.
Can you show me how to make a decent nerf grenader? I really need help with it
ReplyDeleteDeadman,
ReplyDeleteAt this moment, i've not worked on any "nerf grenade" designs yet, so i can't really help you on that.
I like the "bullpup" configuration you have there. Is it as hard to prime, say as a Big bad bow that way?

Hey sgnerf is the r3l as hard to pull as a 14kg longshot?
ReplyDeleteBlogger,
ReplyDeleteIts about the same, just with a much longer pull draw. :)
Can you make a tutorial on how you make your Stefans darts?
ReplyDeleteBednesti,
ReplyDeleteWell, the stefans that i use are just shorter versions of existing custom calibrated foam darts.
You can check out some of my foam dart custom calibration guides here:
